The mighty mouse is a great mouse. The only thing I dislike about it is the way the scroll wheel sticks. My wife doesn't like the squeeze buttons on the side, but I think they work great. I guess it's all a matter of preference. If they fix the scrolling wheel problem on the new one's I would definitely buy one. I've found though that cleaning the scroll wheel with rubbing alchohol several times in a row will take care of the sticking problem.
First there was "The crappy mouse".

Looks like mostly bug fixes. Only thing new I have found is the result of putting a window out of focus.
iCal is still same design too.

A new Apple TV to stream from my Mac to my HDTV, a Wireless-N router to speed up sharing between computers from my Wireless-G network, a good webcam for my Mac Mini, and some cash for my future Apple purchases (MBP and iPad 2G)

I already got two potential Christmas presents early:
http://hackadaycom.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/apple-tv-2.jpg
(lovin' it something fierce!)
and
http://www.coffee-maker-review.net/images/keurig-elite-b40-21241758.jpg
Would love to have this:
http://www.devicemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/macbook-air-11.6-inch1.jpg
or this:
http://regmedia.co.uk/2010/01/27/ipad_rgb.jpg
But since my budget nowadays says "oh hells to the naw", I'll probably have to settle for this:
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6bYM4txfmbxBCOTXxtrvd3W61-dqsho1y7DwM2lzkwvg9SIOGkCoBJGz2SnP-qzxu7dblChAxKksg-uwjowp9ABQuj-sBgdnKA_BxudRiLOUih4pXDSl1sQbS3K74RiJAJyvRBzLnUJSE/s1600/hojoboxset.jpg
It's the 3-CD box set of Howard Jones's first two albums, being released soon on his Dtox label. Warner/Elektra gave Howard and his keyboard tech Robbie Bronnimann access to the original master tapes, and they've digitally remastered the albums with reportedly much better sound quality than the original CD issues. The third bonus disc, named after his rare "Risk" singles, contains live tracks from early performances.

What product will the T-Mobile chic bash now???
You know how fickle women can be, so does it really matter?!
Oops, just made somebody's hit list. Let me rephrase that...
As a woman, the T-Mobile "chic" has the right to change her mind! Thus probably will bash Android Fragmentation! :D

"...to ensure our continued innovation..."
Ripping-off other companies' UI's is "innovation" now?
Samsung is such a pathetic company. They make nice TVs but still pathetic.
what UI and what innovation? iPhone has no UI innovation. It's a grid of icons. If I draw a line on the pavement, can I patent that and call it an innovation?
Ever heard of a saying "Don't bite the hand that feeds you"?
Cutting contract with Apple will not affect Samsung by much, yes apple sells ********* of iphones with samsung parts, but it's not like Samsung supplies parts only to Apple. Samsung supplies parts for all kind of companies, making more $ than they do from Apple.

I guess now that Macs are only 20% of revenue, we're getting the "B-team" developers and designers.
Bad interfaces based on silly metaphors isn't a new phenomenon at Apple. May I remind you of this abomination?

Yeah look at any teams overall stats. They all have a huge drop in production. The first place team shows it very well. But everyteam has this drop.

There's a followup here (http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/bs-md-mcdonalds-beating-20110423,0,3336656.story), the girl seems to be physically ok, just a little traumatised.
The good news is that when she fully recovers and hires a lawyer, she'll own a Baltimore McDonalds.

Except one from aggie...

Did you thumb them back up, or were you under a misconception?
Somebody must have thumbed them back up. They were all at -1 except the one from aggie.

Any thoughts on peripherals? I know new keyboards/mice/trackpads sometimes accompany an iMac refresh. Maybe we'll see the trackpad come standard now, in anticipation of Lion's new multitouch gestures. Any of you backlit-keyboard dreamers out there hopeful? (Personally I'd just like to see a wireless, non-backlit keyboard with black keys, to match the notebook keyboards.)

gee wiz apple... 1 whole year? frick, and i just bought the logitech wireless desktop...
I have a Logitech Wireless MX 1000, and I love it, and wouldn't trade it for the world, and especially wouldn't trade it for a wireless Mighty Mouse.
A USB Mighty Mouse came with my G5, and I just stick it in my laptop case so I can have a backup mouse so i don't have to use the trackpad when I travel. I figure that's about all its good for when you have a really high-quality mouse like the MX 1000 laying around :-)

Interesting:
Apple sues on 'look and feel', whereas Samsung sues on core technological patents. I always assume it'd be the other way around...
No-one wins here either way, its just crap for us consumers.

All emergency calls are placed on a separate priority line/ or are given preference over all other calls at any point in time.
On top of that they will grab the tower with the best signal no matter what carrier it is on.
If you place a 911 call from an ATT phone and T-Mobile has a better tower in the area then you can sure as hell bet that the phone will be going to that tower.
emergency mode on a phone is very different than a normal call. It has the power to kick others off the line and you are given more dedicated bandwithe for the phone.

It turns out that this luxury, customized security hideaway where they caught him was only built five years ago (http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/05/02/us-binladen-compound-idUSTRE7411NX20110502).
Who wants to take bets that the Pakistani government knew where he was all along and has been playing us for years, taking over $50 billion (http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/05/02/us-binladen-compound-idUSTRE7411NX20110502) from us in aid (best numbers I could find) while pretending to help track him down?
Screw you, Pakistan.

Steve Gibson (http://grc.com/) (love him or hate him) reports that Vista's rewritten network stack, through the various betas, has been shown vulnerable to a number of the exploits that more mature stacks (e.g. BSD's stack, the one MS used to quietly use) have fixed over the past decade! It just seems ludicrous. And if someone wants to listen to it...
Security Now! 51: Vista's Virgin Stack (http://www.twit.tv/sn51)
Microsoft's Vista EULA says:
4. USE WITH VIRTUALIZATION TECHNOLOGIES. You may not use the software installed on the licensed device within a virtual (or otherwise emulated) hardware system.
This means you can't use the *same* installation of Vista Home inside a virtualization technology on the "licensed device".It still looks like they don't want you to install it on a VM if you have it already installed on your system. Still, that's up in the air and we just LOVE Microsoft.

I feel safe running OSX...
Although the future will eventually bring us Mac users some "possible exploits" and other privacy invasions, I feel that Apple has made a good job so far protecting OSX and, as far as I'm concerned, they have earned my trust.
What I'm saying is that we should all just take it easy and worry about this stuff when it actually happens and IF it happens. However, as of now, I think these "kernel bugs" are nothing more than reverse advertisement for the new upcoming Windows, call me paranoid, but I know a lot of PC maniacs are dying for Mac's to get any kind of V.I.S.T.A (Virus Infections Spyware Trojans Adware). In fact, I'm more scared of being kicked by a horse today than getting Mac Viruses in the next couple of years
I for one loooooove to brag from the top of the mountains:
"MY Mac IS 100% V.I.S.T.A FREE!" :D
Just my opinion on the topic :) extreme neh?

The new MacBook Air, 11.6'' base model. Going to New York during christmas and will buy there the new Air. Here in The Netherlands it costs 1000 euro, in the USA it's around 700 euro (converted dollar - euro). Difference of 300 euro!

I'm not on AT&T (been on Rogers and Wind in Canada). On Rogers/Fido or Bell/Telus/Virgin its not uncommon to consistently hit 5-6mbps on an iPhone or other phone (with hspa up to 7.2mbps). They've had hspa+ in many areas for over a year as well.
So hearing 4mbps out of hspa+ which is being marketed as 4G is just sad.
This is quite true. I am on Rogers in the Vancouver area and hit 5-6 Mbps (got screen caps if necessary) all the time. We've also had HSPA+ rolled out for over a year, yes.

Once you get over the delusion of Macs running iOS apps
You might just have to get over your delusion that this is a delusion ;)
Imagine cleaning fingerprint smudges off a 27" iMac display. I hope Apple doesn't go there, and I don't think they will.
Right, they won't go there. But what if UIKit (aka Cocoa Touch) was ported to OS X, so that it was easier to write a universal app that runs on both iOS devices and Macs?
Obviously developers would still have some work to do to port their apps, much like porting an iPhone app to iPad, but having much the same UI APIs available on both platforms would make everything a lot easier.
One might give such a technology a codename like "iX", and announce it at an upcoming developers conference.
